Jenn Marie is a small-business internet marketing coach and consultant originally from Seattle, Washington, but currently based in the Atlanta, GA, area. She previously worked as a promotional model and spokesperson under the name “Promogurl” and is also the mother of four children. Jenn helps manage Jenn Marie Writing & Marketing, a digital strategy agency specializing in SEO, branded content, and user-centered content experiences.
Jenn Marie completed formal writing training primarily on-the-job with The Charlotte Post Newspaper. Her journalism career began in sales; however, while working in circulation, Jenn was promoted to a contributing reporter and copy-editor. The newspaper appreciated her creativity and ability to connect with both the subjects she interviewed as well as their readers. Subscribers frequently wrote in to the paper to compliment her ability to ‘paint a picture with words’.
Jenn left The Post to pursue full-time volunteer work with National AIDS Fund AmeriCorps. While there, she worked as a health educator, continuing to write by creating informative newsletters. After leaving AmeriCorps, Jenn moved to Chapel Hill to attend the University of North Carolina. She was accepted into their journalism school on a scholarship.
Between 2004 and 2014, Jenn worked in technology sales and support in FTE roles at both Microsoft and Amazon. She also contributed on the topics of user experience and information architecture for Slickplan.com. In 2020, Jenn returned to school to obtain her Master’s in Information Management from Wayne State University.
After facing disability in 2010 and losing her ability to work in event marketing, Jenn began writing online to reestablish herself. This is her semi-personal blog that offers some of her insight on writing professionally, communicating online, and managing a small business, as well as links to some writing samples and other online profiles.

I love! I am so proud of you.
